Congrats to our Graduates!

by Carolyn Canouse

This spring we have something very exciting to celebrate. Nine Make a Miracle scholarship students are graduating! This is so cool for me to see because it shows that our vision for education for Peruvians with no other means of higher education is not just a possibility, it's a reality. After six years we now have 20 graduates. These young people have surpassed obstacles you can't even imagine. They gave up their social lives, sleep and even food and basic necessities in order to make the most of this opportunity.

I could not be prouder of all our graduates! Recently we hosted a special dinner for our most recent graduates. Three of our new students, Nayhely, Milena & Rocio, planned and executed the entire event. They spent the entire day at our study center, more than 10 hours, decorating and ensuring we all had a wonderful time. I hope they were inspired that one day they will be attending as graduates.

We had 100% participation, although due to Covid 3 students had to attend via Zoom. Jack, Shannon, Rachel and I announced the awards for each. Join me in congratulating our graduates:

Aurora - Interior Design (Most Artistic)

Aymar - Computer Science (Most Athletic)

Craig - Computer Science (Most Studious)

Giovanna - Social Work (Mama Bear)

Hafed - Audiovisual Communication (Most Popular)

Jasson - Computer Science (Most Likely to Succeed)

JeanPier - Computer Science (Best Attitude)

Jhosue - Business (Funniest)

Merely - Business (Sweetest)
