Saturday, June 12th was an incredible night for everyone at Make a Miracle. Our event committee spent all week setting up for our annual fundraiser, trying to make our new venue, a barn, look perfect. It was stunning! We were thrilled to see so many guests dressed in their 70s inspired best. Everyone agreed it felt great to be back at a party!
As always, Chefs Kip & Nick put out an amazing spread: mini lobster rolls, mushroom ravioli, lollipop meatballs,
and a charcuterie board were the appetizers. The meal included short ribs, Greek chicken, orzo salad, green salad, roasted potatoes, green beans, and salmon grilled on cedar planks. For dessert, we all had a special treat: KeeKee's ice cream party ! They served us nostalgic popsicles which transported many of us back to the 70s!
Now for the exciting news: This year we doubled the amount we raised from 2020! Between ticket sales and the live & silent auctions, we raised just over $92,000!! This will enable us to continue our work as well as do even more than we thought. A big thank you to Jasson Caceres for sharing his story with us, as well as Rachel Canouse who did a marvelous job translating for him. Jasson is one of our 90 scholarship students who shared his story: how he worked from the age of 8 and dropped out of school at 13 to bring in income for his family. He eventually got a scholarship through Make a Miracle, went to college for Computer Science, and graduated first in his class. We are so proud of him and all our students!
Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this an amazing event. Thank you to our guests who came out to party for Peru! We are so thankful for your generosity and willingness to help us make a difference in the lives of so many.
